The most powerful healing art I have ever experienced is an acupressure art called Jin Shin Jyutsu®.  In fact, it is now a core service in my holistic healing practice. Jin Shin is an ancient healing art that looks like acupressure and feels “like melting”.  It was revived in the early 1900’s by Jiro Murai of Japan and brought to the U.S. by the late Mary Ino Burmeister. Using “nature’s jumper cables”, the arms and hands, we jump starting your energies. The practitioner gently holds pairs of points, or while you feel tension, pain, and other disharmonies “melting away”, “unwinding”, and “lightening up”.  Jin Shin brings balance to the body’s energies, promoting optimal health and wellbeing, and bringing forth our own profound healing capacity.  It complements conventional healing methods, relaxing you and reducing the pains and dysfunctions caused by stress.

How does it do this?  Without needles, using only light finger touch, Jin Shin uses key points, or small zones, called “safety energy locks” along energy pathways that feed life through our bodies.  This seems to work by accessing nerve junctions, opening up the flow through the nervous system.  Whether you call this nerve function or meridian flow, when one or more of the paths become blocked, usually due to stress, the resulting stagnation can disrupt functions and cause discomforts.  Holding the key points, or energy locks, in combination can bring balance to your mind, body, and spirit.

I personally have used Jin Shin with dramatic effects for myself and my clients.  In my first experience, many years ago, I had a foot/ankle injury that refused to heal.  After two orthopedists, two casts, and 4 months on crutches, my foot and ankle were still very painful, swollen triple, and a lovely purple-fuscia color.  Friends sent me to a Jin Shin practitioner, and twenty minutes into the session, my pain was rolling away.  I walked out carrying my crutches.  In six weeks, this ridiculous, aggravating injury was healed.  A huge part of the healing was my stubborn use of Jin Shin self-help holds, twice a day, during the entire healing period.  I wanted to be well and mobile again as fast as possible!

I was so astounded by the power of Jin Shin that I became a direct student of Mary Burmeister, the world’s living master teacher at that time.  I ultimately gave up my other work to devote myself to my holistic healing practice.   I have been helping others with stress relief, pain dissolution, and other often-dramatic results, in the twenty-plus years since.  I have experienced Jin Shin improving every condition I have applied it to.  It’s a secret weapon in my life, which allows me to manage moods and frustration, work long hours, feel energetic and cheerful, quickly zap illness, and have unusually young-looking skin.

Jin Shin relieves pain and painful emotions.  In a sense, Jin Shin rolls back the aging and disease that hold us back.  It powerfully shifts you into the realm of Healthy Happy Loving Loving Lifesm!  Are you in?  Got any questions?  I would like you to feel as great as you can!

natural healing, pain relief, JSJ,, Kobe BryantUpBeat Living stands for your most fulfilled life, including your best possible health and wellness, which in turn will make you vital, joyful and fulfilled.  Today, we’re reaching out to anyone who needs to heal from an injury.  Would you like to heal much faster?

Recently, basketball legend Kobe Bryant, of the LA Lakers, ripped/ruptured his left Achilles tendon (attaches to the back of the foot/ankle), making a move said he has made thousands of times before.  Surgeons have repaired it, and Bryant was told to stay in bed for 2 weeks.  Possibly out for months, he is frustrated and also in pain.  He wonders if he will actually make a full recovery and be able to return to his passion, playing professional basketball.

What should he do to heal?  Of course, he will follow his doctors’ orders, including not re-ripping the tendon.  For natural pain relief, he can use the techniques in my recent article, 10 Top Tips for Natural Pain Relief Now! ( http://wp.me/pw4HM-co).  These include certain breathwork, selected applications of stretching and ice, soaking with Epsom Salts, and eating lots of colorful fresh, organic, fruits and veggies, for the healing antioxidants.

But Bryant can also use energy healing, Jin Shin Jyutsu®, to speed his recovery.  If he can reach the injury, even with a cast on, he can hold the injury site with his right hand and place his left hand over the right.  He can also get his visitors to do that for him, while he relaxes, which will also speed recovery.  This can be done for a minute or for hours, as much as you like.  You may notice the hands getting hot.

Another Jin Shin Jyutsu® move to use is to hold the medial wrist at the base of the bone below the left little finger. This is the last point on the hand, on the little finger side, that is still on the hand.  This move  flushes energy into the ankles and feet, aiding regeneration.  All basketball players should be doing this while watching movies!

If Kobe Bryant is looking for a Jin Shin Jyutsu® practitioner to come and work on him, gently holding pairs of points, and giving him great pain relief, relaxation, and speeded-up healing, he can look at the JSJ Locator to find someone in his area (http://jsjinc.net/locator.php ).  And after he gets out of the hospital, he can take a Jin Shin Self-Help class in any of a number of locations around the world.

We look forward to seeing Kobe Bryant back on the court, in surprisingly short time, back fulfilling his passion!

On Saturday, November 2d, my office in Phoenix is giving a Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help Part 1 class from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Self-help Part 2 will be on Saturday, November 9th.  To register, or for details, email kebba@kebba.com, or call 480-250-1177.

Got physical discomforts from stress and emotional burdens? From fatigue and appetite problems to skin eruptions and ulcers, our bodies may store our distressful experiences. Spiritual, mental, and emotional ills can make us feel bad physically. Also, if we feel bad physically, it is harder to feel great emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Releasing stress and pain feels good and means less effort is required to live each hour. It takes more work to hold in pain and hurts than it does to release them.  Here are three simple, portable LifeTools(sm) to help you release stress and pain, even physical pain. Finger holds and pressure points are related to acupressure, the art of using access points to the nervous system to release build-ups of discomforts.

First, gently hold and take three complete breaths on each finger and then the palm center. Start by gently grasping your left thumb with your right hand. Wrap the right fingers and thumb around your left thumb as if “hugging” it. Don’t squeeze. Pressure is not necessary or helpful. Take 3 slow, complete breaths and move to holding your left forefinger. Repeat with each finger on both hands. Also, touch your right fingertips to the left palm and take 3 slow, complete breaths, then repeat with the left fingertips to the right palm.  This series will release overall stress, and it can be used to prevent jet lag.

Second, hold the thumb-forefinger web about an inch below the large knuckle of the forefinger. Hold the muscle that feels like firm tofu.  Ideal for tension headaches and headaches caused by high-pollution days, this is a general pain releaser for the body.  Also works for throat pain from high-pollution days.

Third, place the thumb of each hand over the ring-fingernail of the same hand, and hold as long as you like. This releases constricted breath or lessens temporary pain, such as that caused by dental drilling.  Do this while jogging!  Relax your hands and no one will ever notice you are doing finger poses.

If you are interested in learning more ways to use healing arts on yourself:  in the Phoenix area, our next Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help Classes are coming up.  Part 1 will be held February 2d, from 9 am to 1 pm, and Part 2 will be February 16, from 9 am to 1 pm.  The class is $100 for each part, which includes the book for that part and a laminated chart of the key points.  Your payment (Cash-Check-Visa-MC-Amex) holds your place.  Space is limited, so call or email now, 480-250-1177 or kebba@kebba.com.
