Yesterday, I argued that:  Health and happiness allow us to embrace Life, step into The Flow, and begin to live joyfully and powerfully.  And I want that for you also, in abundance, for 2022 and always, increasingly!  So when will you step into it?  Let’s talk about time.

Einstein proved that time does not move at a steady rate.  However, we know from experience that time chunks along, whether you are paying attention or not.  People say, “Time marches on.”  People say, “Time waits for no man.” You can ignore time and its movement, but it still moves along, and the next thing you know, it’s March.  Or June.  And your life is exactly the same as it was.  Why would that be?  It would happen because you did not make actual changes for the New Year 2022.

A quote attributed to Einstein goes:  Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.  If we want Life to look different, in March or any other month later this year, let’s make some changes to get some shift.  Put in the positive, what qualities do you want in yourself and your life in 2022?  Do you want better memory, a cleaner kitchen, more income, a better singing voice, or perhaps kinder friends?  Then what needs to change for you to have those qualities in your life, now and moving forward?  Number them and start with the steps to get Number One moving.

You already know what to do about some of the shifts you want.  The other shifts– a coach can help– I can help.  Once you have identified the steps you need in order to get those shifts, you need to START.  I once saw a powerful interview with Margaret Thatcher, then the Prime Minister of the UK.  She was asked how she stayed married, raised twins, served in Parliament, and finally served as Prime Minister, all with power and grace.  She blinked very slightly, then said, “Well, there are 24 hours in a day, and if you think about it, you can do quite a lot with them.”

So when should you start with your shifts?  How about NOW?  Yes!  And you will increasingly find yourself being more Healthy Happy and Loving Lifesm!  And keep me posted on your progress.  You have only your discomforts to lose, and I would love to help you on your journey.

If you read it very quickly, my bywords might seem vapid:  Healthy!  Happy!  Loving Life!  The fact is that these words are powerful.  They evolved into this current form over decades of trying to better describe what I believe in, how life works, and what I offer, as a professional.

All my life, I wanted to feel good, have energy, and be enjoying life.  I wanted to laugh with friends and experience a lot of joy.  But I had mystery fatigue and mystery pain all over, which was never diagnosed by regular doctors.  And normal pain relievers didn’t touch the pain.  Exercise helped.  I didn’t laugh a lot.  So by the time I had completed 2 university degrees and was working very hard on success in science fields, I began taking a fresh look at my situation through the burgeoning fields of holistic health.  My health was a daily struggle, and I was nowhere near my dream of being happy.  I couldn’t imagine goals beyond getting a grip on my situation.

But I got there!  Step by step, I peeled away layers, found my answers, and restored my health.  I fell in love with energy medicine methods like Reiki, Jin Shin Jyutsu, and Healing Touch. I fell in love with the healing power of foods.  My faith journey helped.  I was ordained as a minister.  What I concluded in my journey was that:

  1. Feeling great has to start with health.  We must each find our personal health balance.
  2. Health clears clouds and allows us to find happiness
  3. Health and happiness allow us to embrace Life, step into The Flow, and begin to live joyfully and powerfully.
  4. This becomes a system I call Healthy Happy Loving Life!

I have spent many years explaining what I do through the lens of Stress Management.  Most people who appear stressed are dealing with health or pain issues, conflicts that prevent happiness, and no sense of connection to Source– to any Divine– at all.  Many people have no sense of their own belief system.  Now I help them sort out their beliefs and practices with holistic coaching.

I tried for years to get people to live on the Upbeat– to live emphasizing the positive– with titles about Upbeat Living and Upbeat Spiritual Living.  I wrote hundreds of free articles (now over 500 online), several guidebooks, and 3 books to help people.  Now I help them shift their attitudes to the positive and their languaging to the positive.  I listen to their descriptions of stressful situations and relationships, help them sort out the dynamics, and offer specific strategies and wording for difficult conversations.

Many people have no idea that their peripheral neuropathy or other condition may be caused by, for example, the diet sodas they are drinking.  Now I help them shift away from foods that may be hurting a condition they mention, and shift toward delicious foods that may dissolve that condition.  I also offer Energy Transformation Sessions, to dissolve headaches, back pain, anger, grief, or other conditions that are uncomfortable and distracting.  People leave my office relaxed, happy, and hopeful.

I have helped countless people over the years, to release the uncomfortable and move into a life they love.  Today, I teach or coach online,  and I have Energy Transformation Sessions and Holistic Coaching in my cozy office.  People get notes to take home, to try techniques, look over books, or switch what they swallow.  Might you get huge shifts from this work?  Yes!  Might people respond to you very differently?  Yes!  Might you start enjoying the right people, more?  Yes!  And you will increasingly find yourself being more Healthy Happy and Loving Lifesm!  You have only your discomforts to lose, and I would love to help you on your journey.

If you ever want to cut your cost of living, get out your calculator and figure out your cost of looking good, as follows.  You may be astonished at the chunk of your disposable income that is going for grooming!  So many people are stressed about income, while they are unaware that their grooming is leaching away their cash.  Really, it’s a crime against your Stress Quotient to overspend on your looks– and it’s unnecessary! There are 4 main areas you should examine closely.

  1. CLOTHING.  Many say you should save money by buying second-hand clothes in consignment- or thrift stores.  But let’s consider cost per wearing.  If you enjoy lots of shopping time and if you can find pieces that work with your current pieces, then you may lower your costs this way.  Do not buy random pieces!  However, a new top you buy on sale for $20 carries no energy baggage and will look good for, let’s say, 80 wearings.  That would be 25 cents per wearing.  The top you buy used for $5 may look good for 5 wearings ($1 per wearing) and then need pressing with spray starch to not look draggy.  So which is the better buy?  Personally, I like to shop online, perusing the clearance areas of Major Store’s website.  When I find one or two tops that I want, I then use an emailed discount code to get another 15-25% off.  So I am getting fresh, new quality clothing for $20 or less that will last and look great for 80 or more wearings.  I once bought a dress for $11 in Major Store’s clearance department in person. It does double duty as a tunic, with black leggings, and I am now at about 25 cents per wearing.  You get the idea.
  2. ACCESSORIES.  This is an area where you can quickly go broke while helping the fashion industry get rich.  So watch it!  Women, you may need one large, one medium, and one tiny black (or brown) purse.  (You did do color analysis, didn’t you?) Maybe you’ll need one evening purse, not one for each dressy outfit.  Purses, scarves, and jewelry are the perfect items to pick up at thrift stores, or better, at yard sales.  At these prices, you will be down to pennies per wearing.    I have received many compliments on my 25-cent scarves!  Need high-end accessories for soirees at the country club?  Go to the high-end consignment stores.  And consign your own high-end gear you are tired of.
  3. SKIN CARE AND  FRAGRANCE.  These are the highest-profit areas for the grooming industry, so listen closely.  This article was inspired by my shock at finding Clinique skin care products in a Nordstrom Rack store recently.  NR should have had reduced prices, so I approached the Clinique (non-allergenic department store brand) bottles eagerly, to check the prices.  HA!!  I had just been studying the cost-per ounce of favorite Clinique products so was momentarily an expert on Clinique pricing.  HA AGAIN!  The bottles were shop-worn and bore three layers of price tags, as though they were on clearance.  BUT THE ACTUAL PRICES WERE FULL RETAIL.  So I went to my computer and checked in with Major Store.  They were having a rare sale that allowed 15% off all Clinique, which is normally never discounted.  Plus, they were offering gift packs if you spent more than $50.  When– and only when– the gift packs contain items you or your sister will actually use– this can be another $40 in value.  So I stocked up!  My cost-per-ounce came down by 15%, then my cost-per-season dropped by $40.  I can live with that!  Can you buy lower-end brands?  Of course, if your skin looks as smooth and happy using them– experiment!  Fragrance– don’t buy it!  Your friends are allergic to it!  Go into department stores and ask for samples of your favorite fragrances.  You’ll be surprised how long those tiny bottles last.
  4. MAKEUP.  Your mission here is to look as good as possible for small dollars.  Note the cost per ounce of, say, foundation makeup, and you’ll see it vary from $5 or less per ounce in drugstore brands to $29 or more per ounce in department store brands.  Simplify what you buy, and you’ll find you have more space in the bathroom cabinet.  Save money and time with all-day lip color; find your brand and stick with it in 2-3 colors.  Do not go to department stores  for lip color– those lines are not better.  If your foundation is a little drying, put a few drops of Favorite Moisturizer on your fingertips, and blend your foundation in, on your fingertips, before applying.  Add a bit of olive oil to your cheap body lotion, and notice it’s now super-moisturizing. To keep your skin moist from the inside, drink extra water and eat avocados daily. You’ll be amazed.

Whew!  What a whirlwind of ways to save!  Take these general principles to heart, and soon you’ll find you and your grooming budget both have much less stress.  And that’s you ever more Healthy Happy and Loving Lifesm!

What do you do to transcend a rough, noisy, challenging day?  I write a lot about that.  But today I wrestled with a federal agency and some other rough, noisy, challenging issues.  I just needed transcendent natural beauty, to move me back into my usual peace.  So today, I offer three images of moments I came upon by surprise, and they uplifted my mood.  I hope you enjoy these three slices of sky and the cloud angel, the full Moon in early morning, and the orange blossoms.  And that would be me, getting back to my center, ever more Healthy Happy and Loving Lifesm!

Do you love your life?  Do you feel good most of the time?  Are you comfortable in your body, or do you feel ill at ease, achy, or in pain?  Do you get the results you want from interacting with others?  Do you have the relationships you want– with colleagues, relatives, friends, weather, God?  I can say “yes” now, but it wasn’t always true for me.

I left childhood with a heavy heart and some medical mysteries.  Although I was active and brilliant, worked hard and got a 4-year college degree, a Masters’ degree, and most of another Masters’ degree, all in sciences– life was mysterious to me. I had chronic pain that I was left to solve myself.  And I did, ultimately. While pursuing a robust career as a hydrologist, and publishing a lot, I became much more interested in how we can physically feel good.  How could we solve idiopathic pain– the pain with no clear cause?  I found that Oriental Energy Medicine was a powerful tool for my body’s pain, together with adjusting what I ate.  I also learned to use natural supplements and remedies rather than medications, as regular pain medications did not touch the pain I had.  Finally, like the good scientist I was (am), I solved my pain issues.  Natural healing became my major interest, and I left engineering for my own healing practice.

Now, for many years, I have helped thousands trade in their stress for energy, trade their pain for relief, and develop effective living skills and strategies for happy relationships and lifestyles. Having turned my own life into a deeply happy one, I have a passion to help others become that happy and that comfortable with their lives.  For those who want a closer relationship with the Divine, I am an ordained minister, and my spiritual skills are powerful.

A recent dimension of my work is weaving the concept of the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) into the dialogue for certain people.  If you have ever wished you could reach out and turn down the dial of your emotions, and feel less, these conversations could be for you.

So how are you feeling with and in your life?  Yes, this is a big question!  Grab a piece of paper and pen, or the Notes section of your smartphone.  Take all the time you like, to jot down your thoughts as you ask yourself:

    • Am I healthy, happy, satisfied, enjoying and even loving my life?
    • Are enjoyable people drawn to me?
    • Am I balanced: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically?
    • Are there areas in which I want changes, or a better balance?
  • So, what patterns did you see as you were making your notes? Are there areas in which you can see you want to uplevel or go deeper?  Would you like better skills and strategies?  What steps can you take, and would you like to take, to make some changes?  Which area do you want to start shifting first?  I would love to help.
