I believe in moving at least a little external energy each day, to be sure the birds of worry and care don’t think they can just move in and stay. I don’t believe in getting stuck. After massive changes in my life since June, I sometimes have days when I can only sit and process. It looks like I’m doing nothing. But my mind and heart are handling many hundreds of details of reformatting my life and what I call “real.” And I try to “do” one concrete thing daily.
This morning I “did” one thing: with a cheery friend, I sorted the clothing to go back into the master closet; it is completely repaired after the recent pipe flood. At least one third of the clothes then went to The White Dove, a nonprofit that funds Hospice of the Valley, where my husband passed. To celebrate the morning’s achievements, we were very bad and got a quicky lunch from a fast food place on the way back; I even ate French fries! On return, I saw the living room couch anew: it is now nearly empty, having hosted the closet contents for almost 2 months. The living room energy feels so much lighter and freer! I want to live Light-er. I’m getting there. Have you ever had weeks like this, when you just inched along? But I’m getting there!
And that’s me, making progress, ever more Healthy Happy and Loving Lifesm!

I like your approach, Kebba. I don’t like the birds of worry and care nesting in my hair either. Just one thing a day is do-able on undo-able days.

I had the chance to help a friend clear out her clothing closet a couple of years ago and it was such a fun experience.
I’m a minimalist in most ways, so the sheer amount of clothing she had boggled my mind. It was super interesting to see her process what she wanted to keep VS let go of.
It always feels amazing to me to let things go, so I probably do it more often than most.
How wonderful to know so many items are going to a great group!
